MeetGrid
Agreement: terms, privacy and house rules
What you accept when you sign up. You confirm you are 18 or older. You accept these terms, the house rules in section 4 and the privacy summary in section 7. You accept that breaking the house rules can end your account. If you do not accept all of it, do not create an account.
1. Who we are
MeetGrid is a video-room service for gay men, operated by [operator legal name, registered address]. Contact: [contact email]. In this agreement “we” and “us” mean that operator; “you” means the member.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older. Accounts are not available to minors, and we close any account we have reason to believe belongs to one.
- Membership is for gay men. It is personal: one account per person, and accounts cannot be sold, shared or transferred.
- During testing an invite code is required. We may ask for confirmation of your age or identity before or after you join; if it cannot be confirmed, the account may be closed.
- You must give accurate details and keep them current.
3. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your login, so keep your credentials private. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app — not by email request. Deletion removes your profile, rooms and content within [30] days, except records we must keep for legal or safety reasons.
4. House rules — enforced, not aspirational
- No harassment, threats, stalking or targeted abuse. No hate on the basis of race, religion, disability, HIV status, body, age, gender identity or sexuality.
- Zero tolerance for sexual content involving minors. Such material is removed and reported to the relevant authority.
- No recording, screenshooting or streaming another member without the knowledge of everyone in the room.
- No sharing someone else’s images, messages or personal details without their consent — including outing anyone.
- No spam, scams, soliciting money, or commercial promotion without our written permission.
- No impersonation, no ban evasion, no automated scraping.
- Hosts set room rules — cameras on, screens shared only by the host, mics muted until invited — and may remove anyone who breaks them.
5. Content and moderation
You own the content you post. You give us a limited licence to host, transmit and display it only to run the service. Every profile and room has report and block controls; reports go to a moderation queue reviewed within 24 hours. We may remove content or restrict an account to protect members, and we tell you when we do unless that would compromise someone’s safety.
6. Rooms and recording
Rooms are live video. You are visible and audible to everyone in the room you join. [Confirm: whether MeetGrid records rooms — recommended: no recording by default; if recording is added it is announced in-room and opt-in for every participant] Recording by a member is a breach of the house rules, whether or not it is also unlawful where you live.
7. Privacy summary
- What we collect: account details (email or handle, password hash), invite code, device and connection logs, and your camera, microphone and screen media while you are in a room.
- Why: to run rooms, keep members safe, handle reports and fix faults.
- Who processes it: Cloudflare (DNS and edge), DigitalOcean (servers), [TURN relay provider].
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use room media for advertising.
- Retention: account data while the account exists; logs [90] days; moderation records [12] months.
- Your rights: access, correction, deletion, portability and complaint — write to [contact email].
8. Safety
Report and block from any profile or room. Hosts can remove people immediately. In an emergency contact your local emergency services first — we are not an emergency service and cannot monitor rooms in real time.
9. Suspension and ending access
We may suspend or close an account that breaks this agreement, puts members at risk, or where the law requires it. You can appeal by writing to the contact address; we answer within [10] working days. You may stop using MeetGrid and delete your account at any time.
10. Liability
The service is provided as is while in testing. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what other members do or say, or for interruptions. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law, or our liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
11. Changes and governing law
We post changes here and email members about material ones before they take effect. This agreement is governed by the law of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to its courts.
